Question 1

How does Pawstimate make money?

Accepted Answer

When you buy through the paid links on this site, the retailer pays us a small commission — the price you pay stays exactly the same. Commissions fund our research and never influence which product wins a comparison.

Question 2

Do brands send you the products you recommend, or do you buy them?

Accepted Answer

Neither is part of our process. We're a research-driven site: we evaluate manufacturer documentation, retailer listings, safety data and large volumes of verified owner feedback. We don't accept free products for review — freebies are one of the quiet ways review sites lose independence — and brands never see coverage early or hold veto power.

Question 3

Are the picks actually tested with real pets?

Accepted Answer

Honest answer: our verdicts are research-based comparisons, not lab test results. We evaluate materials, construction, safety guidance and patterns across large volumes of verified owner feedback, and every page labels it exactly that way — you'll never find a fabricated 'my dog tested this for a month' story here.

Question 4

How often are your guides and picks updated?

Accepted Answer

Listings and availability are re-checked regularly, verdicts are revised whenever a meaningful product change lands, and full guides are revisited at least annually. If a product we recommended is discontinued or surpassed, it comes off the site — even if the affiliate link still works.

Question 5

Which dog toy should I buy overall?

Accepted Answer

For most dogs, the PETSTA Treat-Dispensing Dog Puzzle is our overall pick — it 'tires' a busy dog's brain in about twenty minutes the way a longer walk would. For pure fetch, the SPOT Sensory Ball is the findable, durable choice. Match the toy to the dog using the guides on the Play & Enrichment page.

Question 6

What's the best bed for a senior dog?

Accepted Answer

Real orthopedic support — memory foam, not cheap egg-crate foam — is what makes a difference for senior joints. We recommend the EHEYCIGA Orthopedic Dog Bed, which pairs memory foam with a waterproof liner and a washable cover. For anxious seniors, the SAVFOX Calming Donut is the comfort pick.

Question 7

Can I request a review of a specific product?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and a good share of our research calendar comes from reader requests. Send the product, why it interests you and the pet you'd use it with via the contact form. Popular requests jump the queue.

Question 8

Are the product images on this site the real product?

Accepted Answer

Images on review pages are illustrative representations of the product type, not photos of a specific unit. Colors and bundled accessories vary, so the retailer's listing photos are always the accurate visual reference before you buy.
